The Corbicula Cycle

David's long-term project for the last few years has been this triptych of solo shows. On The Edge (‘A tour de force’ List), Through The Night (‘Beautiful’ Scotsman) and In The Shade (‘Momentous… extraordinary’ Scotsman). The shows aim to take the intellectual stimulation of contemporary cultural theory and mix it together with the enjoyment of popular forms like the murder-mystery, fairy tale and musical. These three shows form the basis of his practice-as-research PhD at Queen Margaret's University in Edinburgh.

The Auricula Series

This is a more recent project and involves a series of site-specific audio works that are listened to on headphones in particular locations. They combine part radio play, part tour guide, part avant-garde sonic art and part stroll in the park.
